The Faderfox series is a modular set of controllers optimized for use with audio software, but they can easily be used and adapted by VJs. The whole range of controllers can be chained and combined to mix personal setup needs. (I will provide reviews of other Faderfox controllers soon).
The LD2 is shipping since february 2007. It has 16 endless encoders which are double functional as rotary controls AND push-buttons. In addition to that, there are 6 buttons to choose a controller setup, and two step buttons which can be used scroll through storage slots indicated by LEDs.
The MPD-16 Akai Pad is a very nice 16 pads midi controller. It can be used via usb or midi. Powersupply is provided through the usb cable or through a standard 9V external power supply (which unfortunatly doesn't come with the MPD-16).The MPD-16 has 16 nice caoutchouc pad. The pads can be used in different ways.
-when the BANK function is activate, the controller is switching from pad 1-16 to 17-32
-when the FULL LEVEL function is activated, each pad send the maximum velocity when pressed
Bought a brand-new Evolution UC-33 controller last week...
I paid US$225 for it. I printed out the ad for it from audiomidi.com and took that to Guitar Center. They let me have it for audiomidi's price Tested it out with Ableton Live and Propellerhead's Reason on 800MHz WinXP machine with MAudio 2496 card.

When I saw this unit I immediatly saw the potential. It has the most number of faders and knobs and buttons on any controller I could find. Not only can each controller send on all 16 midi channels but you can send commands from three seperate groups too.
