640x480 capture with frame rates up to 29.97fps (NTSC) 25fps (pal)comes with Universal Binary drivers and software.
I use this inside modul8 2.5.1
with various sources on an s-video/composite switch (Cameras, DVD player, 2nd laptop), and it works quite well with low latency and good quality capture, full frame rates using the Photo-JPEG codec. CPU overhead is low on my Intel Mac as well.
The ADS A/V Link is a composite/svideo/stereo RCA to 6pin firewire/DV converter for Mac and PC. It accepts analog video as an input and will also convert an outgoing DV signal to analog. The device sports a 4pin DV connector on the front and will act as a passthough for the DV signal. There is a switch on the front to select between DV and analog and power switch on the back. The box has 4 jumper pins for fine-tuning it's behaviour.
