using a tablet as a midi controller

this is a tutorial on getting your wacom tablet to be able to be used as a midi controller, for audio, VJing or any other midi applications.l
first of all, this will only work on a windows computer, using a wacom tablet.

you need two programs;
midi tab: http://www.tinygod.com/files/Borogove_MIDITab.zip
and maple midi driver: http://www.marblesound.com/Maple_driver.html

install maple midi. when this is done you might have to restart, then you will have 4 'virtual' midi ports set up on your computer. this allows you to tell the midi out put of one program to goto the midi in of another program. obviously this has many more aplications than just using a tablet to control midi.

open midi tab, and set up your tablet with the midi channels and midi controllers you want to use. not all of the axis will be able to be used, depending on you tablet.

i have a graphire 3, and i can only use X axis, Y axis and Pressure.

but the eraser and tip are independant, and you can also use Alt tip and eraser, which is toggled but either of the buttons on the side of the pen. this can be changed from toggle in the top right corner
button shifts means that pressing the button changes to ALT, and when you let go it reverts back to the normal set

button locks: when you press the button the ALT set is used, press it again to change back.

once you have it set up the way you want, open your midi program and tell it to use the maple midi port that you selected in midi tab.
you will have to read the softwares manual if you dont know how to do this.

now the tablet will act just like any normal midi controller.

any probs, post here and ill see if i can help
