The faderfox micromodul LC2 is a pocket-size, custom-made controller optimized for the Ableton Live music software. But because it sends standard midi signals, it can be used with other (VJ) programs as well.
In addition to 7 faders it holds 4 endless encoders (double functional as rotary controls and buttons), a joystick and several buttons.

Hardware quality and usability are very good. Several Faderfox controllers can be combined in a midi chain, signals will not collide. (Check the other Faderfox reviews on VJCentral for more info.)

Faderfox controllers are midi-connected and need a midi-usb-interface to connect to your computer. They are battery powered; an optional wall plug is available. They can NOT be freely programmed, but some midi parameters can be changed in system mode.

The LC2 is a good option for anyone looking for different control types packed in a small place.

Each control can easily be used for a single purpose - but you may switch between several control sets to use each control for multiple tasks.

Example: The joystick can be switched between FX1 and FX2 mode, sending different midi signals to control two filters.

Things can get quite complex if you are using the "Main" mode which gives you 16+ configurations for faders...

Keep in mind that the controller mirrors the Ableton Live software; so for other softwares you will have to find the best way for setting up. Threre are some "hidden" features that might be surprising - on the confusing or the pleasant side.

Example: Depending on the mode, pushing the encoders will have a different effect: in "Send"-mode, a push sets the encoder to zero, in "EQ"-mode, it sets the value to 50%.

For more detailled reference download the manual from the Faderfox site. There are lots and lots of possibilites to think up your own setup...

I did a quite simple and effective example configuration to use the LC2 with Modul8 which can be downloaded here:
