Mixman DM2 Controller Device. Good for manually scratching video live at gigs, and dirt cheap - about $25 on eBay in the US, they even sell them at Toys-R-Us! See official site at http://www.mixman.com . Also branded Digital Blue.
The DM2 is made to use for audio, but with software it can be used for video: http://www.pdoom.ch/dm2/

We use DM2s with PC/Resolume, and our understanding is that they won't currently work with Macs at all. They don't give a true Midi signal, and the third-party driver that converts the DM2's proprietary signal to Midi is PC-only. If I'm wrong in this, I'll be very glad to hear it - and my Mac pals, even more so.

We've been using them pretty intensively for about 2 yrs. We keep buying spares, thinking that we'll wear them out (since they're really just a toy) but they've lasted really well, and other VJs keep nicking our spare ones.

We use them for scratching and find them to be surprisingly good. Not much lag, really very responsive. We prefer them to... uh... Products for DVD scratching that cost around a hundred times as much and are Region Specific.

If you buy one on eBay, be sure to get one with the drivers CD, as it's required and the manufacturer charge to download replacement drivers.

It has 31 buttons, one slider, one toggle and two rotating scratch-pad thingies - all assignable. It's USB-powered, so you can use it anywhere, and it only weighs about a kilo (couple of pounds) and is about 2" thick, 17" long and 10" wide. Fits in a backpack with the lappie and a V4.
