640x480 capture with frame rates up to 29.97fps (NTSC) 25fps (pal)comes with Universal Binary drivers and software.

I use this inside modul8 2.5.1
with various sources on an s-video/composite switch (Cameras, DVD player, 2nd laptop), and it works quite well with low latency and good quality capture, full frame rates using the Photo-JPEG codec. CPU overhead is low on my Intel Mac as well.

Also included is a raw/uncompressed codec which i have found to be great for live input (without recording). It uses the lowest CPU of all the available codecs for the device, as there is no on-the-fly decompression, and latencies are very low

The driver comes with auto input detection, which can be switched off. And a pretty solid suite of capture and export applications.

It allows me to mix an external source in software.
Latency is less than 1/4th of a second. Close enough that if i am watching the capture from my DVD player, the audio coming out of the DVD syncs with the video in the live capture. I'm using a MacBook Pro (1st Gen) 2ghz Core Duo, 2GB Ram, x1600 256mb.

Its well priced, and when i inquired with the company about this product prior to purchasing it, they promptly emailed me back the same day.
